The Main Chamber of the Katsina State House of Assembly was gutted by fire on Wednesday.
When The Nation visited the Assembly at 11:30 a.m., firefighters from the State Fire Service who came in a convoy of three vehicles were seen battling to put out the fire.
The situation was, however, brought under control at 11:45 a.m.
Various items, including furniture, and computer, among other items in the chamber were completely burnt.
Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari had visited the burnt Chamber. He arrived at the Assembly at 12 noon. The cause of the fire incident was not immediately known.
