Two suspects arrested over murder of Senator Bala Na’Allah’s son Abdulkareem

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of Captain Abdulkareem, the 36-year-old son of Senator Bala Na’Allah.

A source said the suspects were apprehended two days ago. However, details of the arrest were sketchy as of the time of filing this report.

The Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said that one of the suspects was currently at large.

He said, “We have two suspected killers of Abdulkareem Na’Allah in our custody. One other is at large.”

Some bandits in separate attacks had killed three persons, including a pilot, in two local government areas of Kaduna North and Kajuru, Kaduna State on Sunday, August 29, 2021.

The pilot was killed by the hoodlums in his Malali (GRA) residence in Kaduna North Local Government Area.

Senator Na’Allah represents Kebbi South Senatorial seat in the Senate and was the Deputy Majority leader in the Eighth Senate.

Speaking about the incident, ASP Jalige said that the death of Na’Allah’s son was reported to the Police about 3.30 pm that same day; and that the killers took his car.

Narrating how the deceased was murdered, Garba Mohammed, Special Adviser to Senator Na’Allah, told NAN that late Abdulkarim was tied in his room and strangled.

Mohammed said that the remains of the deceased were buried that same Sunday evening at Unguwan Sarki cemetery in Kaduna.

He said that the father of the deceased was not in the country when the incident happened.

The Kaduna State Government had described Pilot Abdulkarim Na’Allah’s death as “appearing to be a case of culpable homicide.”

Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, stated this in a statement he issued in Kaduna immediately after the pilot’s murder.

Aruwan said the state government had been informed by security agencies that the remains of the victim were found in his Kaduna home.

“In what appears to be a case of culpable homicide, the deceased was found in a bedroom in his residence in Malali, Kaduna North LGA, apparently after having been strangled with a rope.

“A vehicle was stolen from his parking lot by the assailants,” the statement had said.

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, Mudasiru Abdullahi, had ordered a full-scale investigation into the assassination.

“I have directed that a full-scale investigation be carried out with a view to unraveling the identities of the culprits and bringing them to book,“ the CP was quoted as saying in the statement.

Continuing, the statement noted that, “Report has it that the assassins forcefully gained access into the residence of the pilot at Umar Gwandu Road, Malali, Kaduna during the night hours, choked him to dead in cold blood and made away with his Lexus SUV to an unknown destination.”

The Police Command had called on the public to assist with useful information that might assist in its investigation into the murder.
