Nigerian music star Davido has revealed that he didn’t know he was a wealthy home until he turned 13.
The music star made this known during a chat with popular Black American podcast, EarnYourLeisure.
“Even like till date, he is still very modest about the way he spends and the way he goes about his business, the way he handles his business, it’s still amazing to me,” he said.
“I remember growing up till I was eleven I wasn’t really close to my dad because he was all about work. I remember him coming home late because he was building something. I didn’t even know we were rich.”
The music star recounted how his parents drove very regular cars and lived a modest lifestyle. According to him, he only realised they were rich when he turned 13 and they moved into a new house.
This is not the first time the music star will be talking about his father’s humble beginnings.
It would be recalled that during his live performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, a video series of live concerts hosted by NPR Music in Washington earlier in the year, he recounted how his father used to work for a fast-food restaurant in the United States of America.
