Election: We’ll treat troublemakers as state’s enemy – Makinde

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has said anyone who foments trouble during the governorship election holding on Saturday across the 33 local government areas of the state, will be treated as an enemy of the state.

Makinde spoke on Thursday, at the Fresh FM, Ibadan, during a one-on-one with the Oyo State governor while seeking the electorate votes for his re-election.

The governor disclosed that he had held a meeting with heads of security agencies in the state and that they were well prepared for the election.

Makinde who assured that security would be very tight during the election urged the people of the state to come out in their numbers to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Seyi Makinde, his deputy, Bayo Lawal and other state House of Representatives members of the party.

The governor also advised the electorate to be vigilant after casting their votes, adding that they should wait and watch at a 100-metre radius until the votes were counted, announced and pasted on the walls of the polling units.

“After you have cast your votes, wait at a 100-metre radius until the votes are counted, announced and pasted on the walls of the polling units.

“I have held a meeting with heads of security agencies in our state, and they are well prepared as security will be very tight.

“I want to use this medium to beg those who might be used to foment trouble during the election, to resist such temptation because the outcome will not be palatable.

“Anybody who dared to prevent the people of Oyo State to exercise their franchise, that individual will be treated as an enemy of the state, ” Makinde said.
