Burna Boy makes African history with successive sold-out shows in Canada

The Grammy winner became the first Nigerian artist to sell out the Scotia Bank Arena on two consecutive nights.

As part of the stops for the I Told Them Tour, the multi-award-winning artist packed up the 19,000-capacity Scotia Bank for two consecutive nights on 24th and 25th February 2024.

The musician who has made a name for himself for his remarkable music-making ability and stellar stagemanship dazzled the fans who turned out in their thousands to see him to a collection of his hit singles.

On the weekly “Afrobeats To The World” Space held on X, the host Emmanuel Owoniyi described the concert as a remarkable experience as Burna Boy and his Outsiders band gave the audience their money’s worth

With sold-out back-to-back shows at the Scotia Bank Arena, Burna Boy becomes the first African artist to manage this feat.

This marks another first for the superstar who continues to record several firsts for African music including being the first African to headline a stadium concert in the UK and the US. He’s also the first African artist to perform at the Grammy’s main ceremony after his impressive showing at the 66th Grammy Awards.
