    ‎NAHCON cuts 2026 Hajj fares, payment deadline December 5

    The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has announced a downward review of the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims across the country, reflecting significant reductions from the 2025 rates.

    ‎According to details released by the Commission, pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96 compared to ₦8,327,125.59 in 2025 — a reduction of ₦748,104.63.

    ‎Similarly, intending pilgrims from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,696,769.76, representing a decrease of ₦760,915.83 from the previous year’s ₦8,457,685.59.

    ‎For the Southern Zone, the revised fare for 2026 is ₦7,991,141.76, down by ₦792,943.83 from the 2025 fare of ₦8,784,085.59.


    ‎NAHCON Revised 2026 Hajj Fares
    ‎NAHCON, in a photostatement posted on X on Monday stated that the adjustments were made to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

    ‎The commission also “announced December 5, 2025, as the new payment deadline for all intending pilgrims.

    ‎“Intending pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the stated deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj.

    ‎“For more information, NAHCON urged the public to visit its official website: www.nahcon.gov.ng,” it noted.

    ‎PUNCH Online reported earlier in October that President Bola Tinubu through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, directed NAHCON to immediately reduce the cost of the 2026 Hajj fares that it had recently announced.

    ‎A month before that in September, the agency had announced its approved fares for the 2026 Hajj.
