DJ Cuppy decides against suing Davido’s aide

Popular Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Otedola fondly referred to as DJ Cuppy has made a u-turn and decided not to sue Davido’s aide, Isreal Afeare for defamation.

Taking to her verified social media account, the disc jockey wrote, “Following the public apology of Isreal Afeare, I have decided to no longer proceed with the lawsuit and have instructed my lawyers accordingly. As social media users, I hope we can all learn from this, and ensure that we have valid facts before we speak on matters.”

Based on Isreal Afeare’s Instagram bio, he claims to be Davido’s personal logistics manager.

Months ago, Afeare took to his Instagram account to make some allegations against DJ Cuppy over her issues with singer, Zlatan Ibile.

He claimed that despite the commercial success of the 2019 hit song, Gelato, by DJ Cuppy and Zlatan. The disc jockey did not compensate Zlatan.

Afeare further alleged that the disc jockey took Zlatan for her fundraiser in Abuja where she made billions of naira but she never paid Zlatan neither did she cater to his accommodation.

Responding to his claims, the Gelato singer simply said, “For the record… There have been no breaches of my contractual agreement regarding the song #Gelato as confirmed by lawyers… However, as @IsrealDMW publicly inaccurately declared I owe an artist money, I am suing him for libel and defamation!”
