    Nigeria gets six Tucano aircraft to fight terrorists

    The first batch of six A29 super Tucano aircraft have arrived Nigeria from the United States of America.

    The Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

    According to him, the aircraft arrived in Kano around 12.34 pm and was received by the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (retd.); Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao.

    The statement was titled, ‘Super Tucano aircraft arrives Nigeria’.

    It read, “The first batch of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft have arrived in Kano, today, July 22, 2021, around 12.34pm. On hand to receive the aircraft were the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (retd.); Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao.”

    The aircraft departed the USA on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
