    Olu of Warri: Emiko gets Rolls Royce, 2021 Bentley for coronation

    Omoba Tsola Emiko has gifted himself two brand new, customised cars, a Rolls-Royce and Bentley 2021 model, for his coronation as the Olu of Warri Kingdom.

    It was gathered that the customised Rolls-Royce would be used to usher in Emiko as the new king on Saturday, the day of his coronation.

    Later, the Bentley would be used for the thanksgiving service on Sunday.

    Palace sources hinted that the Olu-designate would ride from his seclusion (Idaniken), to Warri Club in the Rolls-Royce on the day of his Coronation.

    On arrival at the Warri Club, he would walk into a waiting regatta boat and proceed to Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral abode of the Itsekiri people.

    Omoba Tsola Emiko who has been in Idaniken (seclusion) since April 5th is to be crowned on Saturday as the 21st Olu of Warri Kingdom.

    1,000 police personnel deployed for coronation

    About 1,000 police personnel has been deployed to ensure watertight security before, during, and after the coronation of Omoba Tsola Emiko as the 21st Olu of Warri, Kingdom.

    The coronation is scheduled for Saturday, at Ode-Itsekiri (Big Warri), the ancestral home of the Itsekiris, in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

    The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, announced on Wednesday that the measure was part of the Command’s usual proactive ways to ensure hitch-free security at the ceremony.

    According to the CP, two bomb squad has been deployed to report 48 hours before the coronation day to ensure it is safe.

    While warning mischief-makers to steer clear of the event, the CP stated that “the Command is more than ready to deal decisively with anybody who tries to disrupt or cause any form of mischief during the coronation.

    “All that needs to be done to ensure that the event is hitch-free and devoid of any form of violence has been put in place.”

    While wishing the people of Warri and Deltans a peaceful and hitch-free Coronation ceremony, the CP directed the Area Commander Warri, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Operations Officers of the Command to leave no stone unturned towards ensuring thorough supervision of personnel deployed for the actualisation of peace and tranquility during and after the coronation ceremony.

    Uwangue, the traditional crowning family, backs Prince Tsola Emiko as Olu–designate

    Meanwhile, the Uwangue Family of Jakpa which is responsible for the crowning of the Warri monarch has formally backed the emergence of Prince Tsola Emiko as the Olu-designate of Warri Kingdom.

    This was contained in a statement signed by six principal members of the traditional family, copies of which were made available to journalists in Warri, amidst arrangements for Saturday’s coronation.

    The signatories comprising Messrs G.O. Yashobo, Napoleon Edah, A.O. Omagbemi, Mr. Sam Omajuwa, Deacon Ogbemi Edah Akinsan and Mr. S.O. Memuduaghan respectively maintained that since the selection and confirmation of the Olu-designate have been concluded, they have no option than to support his candidature.

    The Uwangue family, a lineage of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan descendants, clarified their position on the Olu of Warri stool, saying, “we do not have any position known as spokesman of the Ologbotsere Eyinmisan Descendants Worldwide, as no decision to create such office was never reached at any meetings of the families.”

    “Whatever statement that is credited to a so-called ‘spokesman Worldwide’ is a figment of his distorted imagination and “personal outburst which we taken exception to,” the signatories further said.

    The signatories affirmed Chief Gabriel Awala as the sole authority to authorise any public statement after due consultations with the Uwangue Council of Elders and other relevant authorities of the family.
