Five more of the abducted students of Bethel Baptist School, Kaduna, alongside their matron have regained freedom on Friday, Saturday PUNCH has learnt.

Their release is coming 92 days after over 120 of them were kidnapped on the school premises on July 5, 2021.

The bandits had invaded Maraban Rido in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on June 5, 2021, and abducted the students of the Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Kaduna.

The President, Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr Israel Akanji, confirmed the release of a new batch of the pupils to Saturday PUNCH in a terse statement.

“Glory be to God! Five of our Bethel Baptist High School students and the matron, making six, have just been released to us this evening, October 8.
