    AMVCA8: ‘Amina’, ‘Rattlesnake’ & ‘Omo Ghetto’ lead nominations (full list)

    The nominees for the eighth Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) are finally out of the bag, officially kicking off the award’s season.

    Hosted by Adesua Etomi and Daniel Etim-Effiong, the event which was broadcast live on Saturday, March 19 saw a variety of nominees across 33 categories.

    Izu Ojukwu’s historical drama ‘Amina’ joined the list of the most nominated films with 12 nominations in major categories including the ‘Best Overall Movie’. Funke Akindele, JJC Skillz’ ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’ made the noteworthy list with nine nominations by Ramsey Nouah’s ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story’ scooped 10 nominations.

    For this year’s award, a worthwhile eight-day event will precede the main event slated for May 14, 2022.
