Akpororo reacts to criticisms of performance

A comedian, Jephthah Bowoto, aka Akpororo, says he is not bothered about the criticisms he gets for his performances. The entertainer, who was recently ‘bashed’ for insulting some persons during his performance at the gospel music concert, The Experience 2022, stated that it was not his intention to make anyone feel bad.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “People just talk. When we see people do good work, sometimes we just want to criticise them. I did not mean any form of insult or disrespect with my performance at The Experience. I was only doing my job and making people laugh.

“Some people just like to overdo things. I have been in this ‘game’ for a long time, so things (criticisms) like these don’t move me.”

Akpororo also stated that though the Yuletide is usually a busy period for entertainers, he often spends the festive season with this loved ones, and 2022 was no exception. He said, “I usually celebrate Christmas with the knowledge that it is the birth of Jesus Christ. I stay with my family and friends, and show love to other people.”

The comedian also acknowledged that people have different ways of celebrating Christmas. He said, “Everybody is entitled to their choices; though some actions might be as a result of ignorance. My definition of Christmas may be different from the way other people see it. I really don’t have anything to say to such people because it is not my birthday (laughs).”
