Gombe gov dissolves cabinet, Tambuwal sets up transition committee

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has dissolved his cabinet, urging the various appointees to submit handover notes before Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

The office of the Secretary to the State Government disclosed this in a statement signed by Rabi’u Abubakar.

The statement, was titled: ‘Submission of handover notes of Ministries, Department and Agencies.’

The statement read, “Following the recent successful conduct of the 2023 governorship election, which marked the end of the first tenure of the governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, I am directed to request that you prepare a comprehensive handover note of your ministry, department and agency. Your submission may also include report of ongoing projects and programmes of government.

 

“You are, therefore, requested to submit the same to the office of the Secretary to the State Government on or before Wednesday April 19, 2023. Please, treat as urgent.”

Also, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has appointed a 28-member transition committee to facilitate and manage the handover of power to the incoming governor.

Tambuwal, who will complete two terms in office as governor on May 29, has won a senatorial ticket to represent Sokoto South at the National Assembly.

A statement by the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, Alhaji Mainasara Ahmad, said the 28-man transition would be chaired by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Munir Dan’iya, while the SSG would be the co-chair.

The committee is to collate and analyse reports from the ministries, departments and agencies on all ongoing projects and programmes in relation to the level of execution/fiscal profile, constraints among others.

The state government said the committee would prepare a comprehensive handover note to the incoming administration to be ready by May 15.

The state added that members were to organise a befitting swearing-in ceremony in collaboration with the incoming administration’s team and make any other effort in ensuring the next administration receives every support needed to make an early and quick start.
