White Man Wore ‘Blackface’ As Disguise When He Allegedly Killed His Daughter’s Mother

As if white privilege didn’t already exist, a Texas man is accused of trying to get away with the murder of his baby mama by disguising himself as a Black Man by using “blackface” and a fake beard.

Andrew Charles Beard, 33, surrendered himself to Carrollton police this week after learning a warrant had been issued for his arrest, according to People. Beard is charged with murder in connection with the death of Alyssa Burkett, the mother of his 1-year-old daughter.

Now the cops are saying that in an attempt to avoid detection, Beard actually wore a fake beard and applied dark makeup to his entire face.

Authorities say Beard tried to shield his identity from security cameras and witnesses and it initially worked as two witnesses did, in fact, report that a Black suspect and not a white man shot Burkett in the head before stabbing her repeatedly.

The attack occurred outside the Greentree Apartments where Burkett was a manager. Police arrived to find her outside, on the complex’s front steps, with several of her co-workers attempting to render first aid.

According to the affidavit, cops found dark liquid foundation and a fake beard with cosmetic glue in a car that they believed to belong to Beard.

As far as potential motive goes, authorities learned Beard and Burkett had been involved in a bitter custody battle over their daughter.

Burkett was awarded custody of the child on Sept. 30, and the affidavit alleges police discovered tracking devices on Burkett’s car as well as her current boyfriend’s vehicle.

Beard is now being held without bail in the Dallas County Jail. Their child was unharmed and is currently a ward of the state, according to PEOPLE.

We’ll keep you posted on this one.
