    Abductors free 10 more Baptist students, keep 11 victims

    Ten of the remaining 21 Bethel Baptist High school students, Kaduna, were on Sunday released by bandits.

    The 10 students were the fourth batch of the students to be released by their captors.

    It was learnt that the parents went into fresh negotiation with the bandits before they release the students. This was after they had collected a total sum of N100m ransom.

    It was also gathered that some of the parents sold their landed property, vehicles and other valuables to raise the money.

    Although the police had yet to confirm the release of the abducted students, a security source said, “The students were released on Sunday afternoon and were immediately reunited with their parents.”

    THE PUNCH gathered that the students who looked weak were taken to hospital for medical attention.

    The students numbering 121, according to the proprietor of the school, Rev Ishaya Jangado, were kidnapped by bandits onJuly 5, 2021, on the school premises along the Kaduna – Kachia highway in Damishi in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
