NAHCON, in a photostatement posted on X on Monday stated that the adjustments were made to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The commission also “announced December 5, 2025, as the new payment deadline for all intending pilgrims.
“Intending pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the stated deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj.

PUNCH Online reported earlier in October that President Bola Tinubu through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, directed NAHCON to immediately reduce the cost of the 2026 Hajj fares that it had recently announced.
A month before that in September, the agency had announced its approved fares for the 2026 Hajj.
